    "Dr. Dee's Verbal Surgery"
    (A Dystopian Wordplay in 17 Acts) 1995-2021
    ____________________________________... .. .
While investigating the trail of a serial killer, deep in the basement studio of a reportedly haunted house, detectives found the decaying corpse of a clown seated in front of the mixing console, while an eerie distorted loop played out over the monitors. The stench of decay, visceral, sonic and societal, was getting stronger by the day in this twilight world.
A collection of dusty 4-track cassettes was hastily retrieved from a cobwebbed shoebox grasped tightly in the clown's hands before the team got OUT OF THERE FAST!
These have finally been carefully restored, with overdubs completed according to the extensive notes found in the box. But can there ever be a solution to this madness, in the end??? What does it all mean?

    ...the tears of a clown?
    ...a sign of the times?
    ...a companion piece to Joker?
...the diary of a time traveller?

Or simply one individual's desperate attempt to keep a record of a civilisation's imminent collapse?

    24 bit Master.
Includes bonus video "The New Normal (1995-2020-202?)"
    and high resolution artwork.

Last Orders 02:37
so wrapped up in the air you breathe, it's filling up fast, you'd better believe, last orders, dear friends, take a bow, absolute health, cheers to the bar, they say that the end is now not far, don't cry for what's gone, live for now, THERE'S NO TIME TO WASTE TODAY, REMEMBER THIS TASTE TODAY, DRINK TO WHAT'S GONE, SMASH THE GLASS, THIS IS NO TIME TO SIT ON YOUR ARSE! get your rocks off, rock your socks, watch a shiny plastic fantastic box, a digital dream with double-whipped cream, visions appear in front of your face, you black out the windows and join the race, to a virtual dream that's silicon-clean, BUT THERE'S NO TIME TO WASTE TODAY, REMEMBER THIS TASTE TODAY, DRINK TO WHAT'S GONE, SMASH THE GLASS, THIS IS NO TIME TO SIT ON YOUR ARSE! wheeling and dealing, men in their vibe, but a hollow and pasted poster of life, goes tick-tock away on the shelf, do you think this is what I should be? peel back the skin and all you'll see, is a one and a billion noughts, one more drink now, what do you say? it eases the pressure but such a price to pay, and I ain't got time for these thoughts, what did you say, time to call it a day? leave to where signs won't post you the past? anchor up? out of town? out of sight? get out fast, leave tonight.

I'll go a long way I won't be meek just try and catch my libido a little irony a lot of tongue in cheek coming at you like a torpedo i once had a scheme for a sugar machine well irreverence can be such a holy thing but I worship so much I'm afraid to touch the bubbles that burst over the dream what you don't say may worry my day i'm not well, my boat has sprung a leak you bleach me to grey and fade away but I like what i hear when you speak i am what i am come with me tonight heaven knows me in other clothes I hung on the sidelines skating the wide lines came a thousand miles and i haven't learned yet you tore off the roses to welcome the nineties a celibate lover makes a selfish pet don't talk no, walk through the door you're my favourite ashtray for only a shilling for lack of a filling you don't have much to say well excuse me ma'am but a flat battery affects my ability to give out flattery it would keep me occupied all for nothing all is nothing it's all or nothing

Slipstream 03:04
Dreaming of life bored of a life of dreaming, move out onto the mind beam wanting my time now my time is wanting, never seek that's how to find Meaning of life is sex is life with meaning? slide into the slipstream, find the truth, and where we've been, glimpse the corner of the mind It won't be long, back where we belong, dreams, I dream to find what's mine, and every path I tread goes over my head, demons in reverse ride waves through time I remember sliding effortless nights, thinking of another day, sure of another day I remember passing effortless days, so sure we're alive, are we sure we're alive? Say what you think say what you feel, NO-ONE CAN FIND US, we're all alone, take it to the brink let your mind be still, no-one inside us, WE'RE ALL ALONE Cobwebs and dust, Untouched for so long, suffer unto me, cease the flow, decay, rust, something must be wrong, suffer unto me before you go pulled in time, we move closer, to the end, we all move out, Don't panic. Don't shout.

How can I say what many have said, a thousand times before?, my arms heavy my heart slow A child far from home Lay with you and spring comes from love high above to a storm below kiss me, drive me now, hide all my fears Surrender to the sea... So vague these days, love is free, I'll pay one day, some say Easily yesterday brought you to me as tomorrow will take you away... To your love across the water, One touch, I'm good again, true again, One touch, I'm new again. I dream of unfolding you holding me, sea of love surrounding us vertigo, such a long leap, and the water is deep Now I see you shrinking from sight, feel the breeze beginning to cool, there's no time to freshly excite, who will play the Autumn fool?

The morning hour is always raining a thousand faces like a river of dreams the faces in the crowd, follow a trend grey bleached faces fraying at the seams the underground city needs a friend We forget who we are, go running in the past if we want to get there got to slow down fast in a tower of power I gaze at Mona Lisa she's dying by the hour, leaning like a Pizza got to pass this phase, leave the maze TEAR it UP, START AGAIN (THESE DAYS it'S A CLICHE) show us a new way TEAR it UP, START AGAIN (THESE DAYS it'S A CLICHE) BRING ON THE NEW DAY Another action replay, today's the same your face in the crowd never makes a sound go to work on a train, play the game we fly so high, till we hit the ground TEAR it UP, START AGAIN (THESE DAYS it'S A CLICHE) show us a new way TEAR it UP, START AGAIN (THESE DAYS it'S A CLICHE) BRING ON THE NEW DAY We talk around the facts of living on air the world is square and nobody cares we run around in circles going nowhere but the dream is real if we'd only dare TEAR it UP, START AGAIN (THESE DAYS it'S A CLICHE) show us a new way TEAR it UP, START AGAIN (THESE DAYS it'S A CLICHE) BRING ON THE NEW DAY I flew to the moon on a one-way trip just to shine like the shooting stars get me back soon to the mothership or the next rocket going to mars

A New Life 01:16
No future when your eyes meet mine freeway screams a new kind of life we'd do anything, how we'd shine Let's break the cage leave tonight We'll blaze a trail across the sky to a street so real the bones crack when memory's proud nostalgia begs Run through the door, never look back Stain on a mirror the prison is a room of patterns which cling to suffocate as emotion melts to a shadow-wing there's an atmosphere here of lovehate Once I was nailed in a cage of dreams The lost years, they had me tied I ran, I had to leave it behind my dream-street where love could ride Run faster now, don't look behind at darkened grime from seeds of crime a cage of steel used to steal my words but I'll be more than this, in time.

Trouble 02:15
I woke up this morning, my head was a bubble, my legs WERE doubled, MY FEET WALKED out of the door, searching the RUBBLE, I think I'm in trouble, I think I'm in deep, SLEEP TO DREAM DREAM OF SLEEP head full of buses, planes and trains, lost in a maze carried away, turning the sheets connections to meet, to me eet, winding roads and platforms compete, I think I'm in trouble, I think I'm in deep, SLEEP TO DREAM DREAM OF SLEEP uncovered a person barely alive, AND discovered ONE another, outside OF THE LINEs, retention of fees, no customer pleased, shamed by the wrath of the god of unease, I think I'm in trouble, I think I'm in deep, SLEEP TO DREAM DREAM OF SLEEP I think I'm in trouble, I think I'm in deep, SLEEP TO DREAM DREAM OF SLEEP
8.
Nine To Five 03:02
Alarm bells ring, you wake at eight, Get in line boy don't be late, (Eight more hours, you'll soon be away), I see it all through this tiny lens, you stay up late with your books and pens, (the world is mad - run away run away), Time moves fast when your day's all done, Progress is slow there is nowhere to run, (you feel knee-deep in feet of clay), little by little we stretch our wings, louder and louder the songbird sings. (one day soon fly away fly away)

Downtime 03:30
CRAWL TO MY ROOM, what do i find? TIME AFTER TIME? down below the predators prowl they DRIVE too FAST Spin around such Passionate clowns chasing the CLOCK around and around and around I Sometimes think we're all SPELLBOUND, we WALK BLINDLY IN to LOVE LIKE FIRE, LITTLE do we KNOW that we're SPELLBOUND, we BATHE IN THE FLAMES and cling to pain, BATHE IN THE SUN while dreaming of rain I sometimes think we're all HELLBOUND, we STRUGGLE we STRUGGLE with words but LANGUAGE is leaky, where once we CUPPED THOUGHT in our HANDS, Lay down and rest dream of a LIFE OF EASE, Throw it in a box who's words were these? I sometimes think we're all SPELLBOUND BEES will DANCE BIRDS shall fly, building BRIDGES to BURN when they dry, We BATHE IN THE SUN while dreaming of rain, BATHE IN THE FLAMES and cling to pain I Sometimes think we're all HELLBOUND Time will tear down this mystery in Time we all slip to history Time will heal so come close come quick... ...Catch my disease I some, times think we're all, HELLBOUND I some, times think we're all, SPELLBOUND

Moonwalk in the city, pale yellow rancid light it gets cold these Autumn nights, but I don't mind they say it look like rain turn on the water brain a storm will pound shake this building down fading fast, feeling sick Bring a doctor! fix me quick We're living in steel, there are no more dreams, propped up by machines, you know what I mean perfume sickly on the air disguises stale despair despising thickly all the moments going spare fading fast, feeling sick, Bring a doctor fix me quick Revolving on a roundabout, nice and sleazy, streets dirty, greasy, cracked paving, it ain't easy you have to push hard to get things done life shouldn't be a task to be dragged in the mud fading fast, feeling sick, Bring a doctor fix me quick People in their boxes, eyes of blinding white I want you tonight light's too bright, I want to go to bed, but I have to stay awake don't give up, there's far too much at stake

Sunglasses 00:45
I wear my sunglasses when it rains, if I were blind, I'd need no shade. the sun shines my eyes are closed, as night arrives I put on my pose, I wear my sunglasses when it rains, some people say I'm crazy, feel my eyesight fade. maybe I See the world, in a better way. Where are you going? what have you become? bump into things I'm so cool, walk in a daze not much to say, you don't know who you're talking to, who sees where they are anyway? Where are you going? what have you become? abstraction attraction all my invention.. eyes open, mouth closed. all talk but no action is not my intention! ...eyes open, mouth closed. I wear my sunglasses when it rains, some people say I'm crazy, feel my eyesight fade, maybe I. See the world. in a better way.

Encircle the shrine a house of sticks stone walls around a dream of red tide, Your chastity elects. to keep it inside, this crowded house. with the door shut tight, where night is a game that's lost in the day, It's dumb to pretend, when mamma's away. She once had a dream, things not what they seem, lightning strikes, spearing her shame, thunder clouds came, calling her name. Saw a great white boat, on a dead calm sea, of old shrunken dreams, inside screams, leave her to fear lock her away. he said The madness I need within you is my chance to win you i will put my madness in you My madness comes alive in you My madness is inside you In my madness I would die. for you. old shrunken dreams, inside screams, leave her to fear lock her away. keep it inside, door shut tight, leave her to fear lock her away. put my madness in you Go down to the line, make no sound, brightly sprightly build the fire, you nightly light the funeral pyre. Flames flicker, fingers burned, in bitter sweet tears to swallow her pain. leave her to fear lock. her. away.
14.
S is For... 00:48
Today I see a face, Staring from a mirror, Outside my control, S is for suffering, suffocating laughter Realisation appears, to alter the years, each grey day, making a mockery, Laughing in screams Blessed this posession, advantageous disease, Built on private thought, And the wall... how tall?

drinks a bottle of Chianti dives into Danté he talks like cocaine, on a bench in the rain he says 'Listen close to my lies' our 'Friends' are as silent as spies he's still attached to that world of hate, the platitudes flake from his skin, so fake, no we won't talk to him about our fate. words are disguise, they hide and forsake a stop-at-home boy, playing with toys, - try to shoot me down, now go ahead. you don't have a clue so you make a noise out of sight and sound you're good as dead. I drink a bottle each day, the best Moet (you, have an ugly-face} now go away here come the clouds, right over your head, you severed a link, and lost a friend I don't think you heard, when they said life is a jewel but I'll keep cool
16.
A Dark Age 04:11
Dark is the night now, since you're gone. I'm no longer sure, what, I should do, I'm left here standing without a song, In discordant, beams of blue. So I keep searching, the lines on my face. To find that absent clue. Things were said, things were done. Now I no longer believe in you. no longer believe. in you. They pay my way now, on this rat race, and I find that nothing's new, When these wide eyes. met your wild face. a symphony in black and blue. Dark are the days now, all hammers and tongs, I think I know what I have to do. uh broken gauge of the rights and wrongs. You could shine a light right through. You could shine a light. right through. Dark are the days now, I hurry along, And the cage it hurries too. A reddened rage now, where thought belongs, I'm gaining fast, it's the end of you. I'm never gonna liv again. I'll never liv again. I'm never, gonna liv again. I never wana liv again. I'll never liv again
